Alternative Medicine - Good Or Bad Reputation?
Mostly in conventional veterinary and medical professions, alternative medicine generally is incurred with a bad reputation. It is often dismissed as the "new thing" with slight effect on the health conditions on pets as well as humans. As the name imparts, alternative medicine is assumed with as a medicine with minimal tangible or scientifically considerable affect on the subjects. The emplacement of animal healthcare is analyzed and judged herein.
Various classes of alternative medicine like acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine, and loads of alternative health care providers are the thing from the past and have been in practice through ages. People tend to view alternative medicine as something which has just been discovered and see it in an ill-judged manner to say the slightest. Hypnosis and homeopathy are some of the other advances that have lived for centuries. With a huge range of health emerges, alternative medicine has indeed aided almost millions of people worldwide from the ages to come.
People not necessarily opt for prescribed drugs for the slightest of ailments and hence try to stay away as much as possible. Almost all the time it has to come to notice that most of the drugs do more pain than they actually cure. But, as the pharmaceutical companies have it, drugs are well promoted on a different level altogether which brings them to the front.

On the other hand, surplus of alternative medicine is disturbing and unsafe as well, like in the case of dealing with a collapsed lung. Acupuncture is the one thing that a lot of practitioners would not suggest in the treatment of a caved-in lung.
The result lies in an approach emphasizing the organic or functional relation between parts and the whole. The two approaches - alternative medicine and conventional medicine have earned its place rightfully in the modern society and thereby should complement one another and acknowledge the fact that they are each other's spheres of influence.
This specific argument holds good for our pets that are to be treated equal as well.
Immunizing and medicating our pets has more than required trust issues with modern veterinary science with the pharmaceutical corporations reaping in the profits and sky-high veterinary bills. This outcome too isn't really helping our pets; instead they tend to be sick even after all the medication and vaccination!
Our animals live in an environment filled with pollutants which, day-by-day are increasing to heights never observed before. Due to this factor, the animals are more prone to illness and diseases. Another factor is the quality of the food which is nutritionally lacking and largely over-processed.
How can this instability in the system be dealt?
Holistically: Avoiding over-medication and vaccination is a start to treating severe illness and conditions. Another way with regard to the bills is to avoid frequent visits to the vet for no apparent reason as there are a lot of complaints that we, as animal owners, can deal with. But when the matters are serious, one has to opt in for the conventional veterinary treatment provided by the veterinary doctors.
So, basically, the need of the hour is alternative medicine and it sure is here to stay. As told earlier, minor complaints with the pet's health can be treated at home without any hassles.
